About the Author
Gary Dessler has degrees from New York University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and the Baruch School of Business of the City University of New York. Dr. Dessler’s best-selling Human Resource Management is also available in more than 10 languages including Russian and Chinese. Dessler’s other books include Framework for Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, Managing Now, Management: Modern Principles and Practices for Tomorrow’s Leaders, and Winning Commitment: How to Build and Keep a Competitive Workforce. He has published articles on employee commitment, leadership, supervision, and quality improvement in journals including the Academy of Management Executive, SAM Advanced Management Journal, Supervision, Personnel Journal, and International Journal of Service Management. As a Founding Professor at Florida International University, Dessler served for many years in its College of Business as Professor of Business, Associate Dean, and Chairman of the Management and International Business department, teaching courses in human resource management, strategic management, and management. If you have to use this for a class, understand that it is a basic overview of HR Management. If you recently graduated from High School, you will probably enjoy the style and manner in which this book is arranged - almost like "sound bites," or bits of information to keep your attention. If, on the other hand, you would like a book that goes in depth and is written for a graduate student... this is not the one for you. Try Mr. Dessler's "Human Resource Management." It is several times the size and has several times the information of "Framework" and is a better representation of Dessler's work.My wife had to have this book for a Bachelor program and it had very little information for her essays. My copy of "Human Resources Management" had the information she actually needed to complete her papers.

My professor did not use texts for class. Hee lectured and whatever he said in class was on the test.I read this book to teach myself the material and got an A in the class. Easy to read and understand.
I can assure you that this book will not teach you to shrink a boat and place it within glass. It will also not teach you how to be a one eyed pirate either. Now if you happen to hire a one eyed pirate who has a sexual harassment case which entails a glass boat and a mini boat.....then you will be fully prepared to deal with this situation after reviewing the contents of this book.
The pages itself in the book are fine, however, it appears someone took a knife to back if the book cutting into the cover and some of the pages in the back. I'm hoping to get in contact with someone for a new book or a refund. Not entirely happy about this.
The book is in good condition as stated. None of the pages have highlighting or writing on them. The spine isn’t even broken, so the book has barely even been opened.
Item mostly as described. It was a little rough looking when I received it, pages were trying to separate from the spine of the book, but it still had all pages present and done the job it was supposed to do.
I got this textbook for my online class and I saved a lot of money because university textbooks can be really expensive. I am so glad I found this book. I gave this item five stars because shipping was fast and it was brand new.
