This book has caused a major headache for me and my accountant (who was like WTF when I told him I was required by law to use Accrural in my situation); it states that Accrural method is REQUIRED for a wide array of businesses and situations.IRS Revenue Procedure 2002-28 in Internal Revenue Bulletin 2002-18 (which came out 4 years before this book's publication date) -[...] - states that there is an exception in the case of "average annual gross receipts" of $10,000,000 or less that is not prohibited from using the cash method under § 448.§ 448 - [...] - states that there is an exception for "(3) Entities with gross receipts of not more than $5,000,000"I would guess that the majority audience of this book is probably small companies that don't take in five million dollars a year.I have no idea what other misinformation this books has, but I feel like this is a major issue that could cause many businesses to make the wrong (or at least significantly harder to implement) choice, a choice which is hard / annoying to change later (IRS Form 3115).For that reason I would recommend not buying the book, future versions, or any other books by these authors.

I found this book to be somewhat difficult to use in learning the accounting skills that I need for my small business. I'm not good at accounting, but I am a decent programmer. I found that many subjects were just tossed at you, and not really explained all that well.I had to really search to find the information that I wanted, and did find some useful information though.If you are totally new to accounting, I reccomend "The Accounting Game: Basic Accounting Fresh from the Lemonade Stand". I learned a LOT from that book, and it presented the basic accounting ideas extremely well. That book was lacking in specific details that this book provides. This book provides MUCH more intermediate accounting knowledge, just in a format that I find difficult to learn and retain.Overall, I'm glad that I purchased this book along with "The Accounting Game: Basic Accounting Fresh from the Lemonade Stand". This book has intermediate accounting detail that will serve as a reference book, while "the Lemonade Stand" really taught me the basics of accounting which I really needed.

I purchased this book because I was working a temp job in the accounting unit of a government agency. This book helped to solidify what I had already figured out, but didn't really give me the overall background I was hoping for.One thing I did notice though is that this book is focused on the idea of managing your own business. If this is what you are planning to do, I think this book is a great choice.

I bought this book for me and my daugheter, at this time my daughter is using this book to an idea about accounting, since she has been register in accounting classes, after she finish, I will start reading it.

I have to be honest, this book really suffered from what I wanted it to be, and my preconceived notions. One of my favorite myths, I had very high hopes, and expectations of tone and content.That said, once I got over the way the self-consciously modern language pricked my pretense, there is a lot of good here, and the author is commended for the risks they took. It is a fine book, and I liked some of the ways they tied together and developed loose ends of the myths.One criticism would be that the author’s note at the end would have served us better at the beginning. A discussion of the poetic forms used would have made this work much more accessible to the casual reader, as I was lost for much of the book, trying to make heads or tails of the patterns that, once I knew them, seemed obvious.

After borrowing this book from the library, I had to purchase my own copy. I absolutely loved this retelling! Wonderfully done, with so much thought put into everything, even the word spacing. I laughed so hard at some parts, and was shocked at the language in others (parents probably want to read this before purchasing for a juvenile or teen). Many times it felt appropriate given what the story is about, I just want parents to be aware of the adult topics and profanity if they are unfamiliar with the original story, as this lays it out in all it's scandalous (hilarious) detail.

I found this book while searching for a young adult novel based on Greek myth and boy, am I happy that I did. I'll be writing a compare and contrast essay on the actual myth and this book for my college Mythology class and really can't wait to begin. Elliott stays so closely aligned with the facts of the original myth while giving the reader an insight into the relationships of the characters involved, creating a much more emotional and captivating retelling of the story of Theseus and the Minotaur. I flew through this novel, aided by the spectacular flow of the verse and form of each character. I am impressed that Elliott let his characters decide which forms or poetry he used according to their temperament and intent. This is a fantastic quick read and so much fun. I caught myself giggling out loud on more than one occasion.

This is a quick read retelling the story of the Minotaur from Greek myth. It is written in poetic form with each character's voice in a different poetic style.That aside this is a fun read. The main observer (aka the one who gets the ball rolling then leans back to watch) is Poseidon who is absolutely entertaining to read. His parts are hilarious.The other points of view are the main players in the story. Their voices are distinctive and well written. I already knew the story but as it unfolded, I still felt the tension of wanting to know what would happen next.If this sounds interesting I highly recommend giving it a read.

This permutation of the story of the Minataur is pure delight. I love Elliott's take on the story & the personalities he imbues to the players. His use of different poetic forms to individulize & personalize these characters is so spot on. I couldn't stop reading it & will definitely be revisiting this one again & again.

Verse novel of the Minotaur story. It’s got all the characters and an interesting take on ancient Greek relationships with their Gods. I enjoyed the book, it was a super fast read, and I felt got the entire of “what in the world is going on” feel pretty right.

Witty, intelligent and poetic, Bull is a creative retelling of a classic myth. Elliott innovatively allows for the reader to have a newfound empathy for each of the characters, especially the popularly disliked character of the Minotaur. Using the poetic form, intermittent comic relief, and a delightful understanding of human nature, Elliott brings to life the story in ways that give you a view into each of the character’s personalities. I would recommend it as a teaching tool, or if you just want something smart and playful to read one evening.

Fun! This has some bad behavior in it and bad language, but is a wonderful retelling of the Minotaur and the labyrinth under Crete. So much fun. Buy this and read this only if you don't mind the bad behavior inherent in Greek Mythology.

I am a professor in a graduate school of psychology and teach psychopharmacology to students who are preparing to be psychotherapists, but mostly don't have a science background. All of his psychopharmacology texts are comprehensive and entirely useful in clinical practice.

This was extremely useful during my PMHNP child/adolescent rotation. I will definitely continue to use this in my new grad practice.

If you're expecting to read something new, this isn't the book to read. I was hoping to get some good pharmacology information regarding interactions or at least receptor preferences, but this is a very basic review that most child psychiatrists would consider extremely basic. If you're not a child psychiatrist, this might be a great book for you. My colleagues however should opt for the McVoy and Findling text published a couple years ago...

I am using this with the social work interns that I supervise. Useful information and easy reading.

Concisely covers the basics but doesn't provide much detail. Useful for a psychiatry rotation but probably not as a prescriber's reference. The Kindle version has some typographical problems. Figure 6F is missing and Figure 6E is repeated in its place. Hope this can be fixed as 6F has some important information.

How can you read any of Max's books and not give them 5 stars? He has a way of putting things into perspective that you haven't ever thought about. He makes you think of things in a new and fresh way. I love reading his books. This one was no different. Each chapter was a fresh look at a different reason why Jesus was and is the savior for the world.

One of the best books I've ever read. Have bought and given away three of these in the past because it lays out the Gospel in such a clear and concise way. It's like Jesus for Dummies, seriously. It doesn't come across as preachy or judgy, just a clear explanation of the Christian's view of what Jesus did on the cross, for the layman. Highly recommend this for any new Christian or someone trying to understand the Christian belief of salvation.

Max Lucado is my favorite Christian author. I love words and this author has the unique gift of writing words on a page that touch a reader's heart starting with the first paragraph! I first received this book over 20 years ago and fell in love with Max Lucado's style and his great love of our Lord. Since that time I have collected nearly all of his wonderful books. I ordered this last book for a gift to a member of my family.All of his books are like a "Balm" for a broken heart or anyone who longs to draw nearer to the Lord!This book is best reading a chapter each day so that it can soak in.As you can tell, I am totally inspired by this book as well as all of Max' works!Sonya Alexander

This book, like other Max Lucado books, is totally engrossing!! I can never put his wonderful books down! He makes me rethink so many things I already have known\read before. He touches my heart and I am transformed, yet again, into the Throne room or at the foot of the cross.

This book is one of my favorite and inspiring books. Max is able to paint all kinds of heart penetrating portraits of what Christ has done for us in His life and sacrificial death on the cross. I've purged my bookshelves of many books, but I have always kept the Lucado books because they have helped me become closer God on many levels. If you haven't read this one, you really need to order it and take some time to read it! You won't be sorry.

This book has not only been an encouragement to me, as a new mother, but also offers journaling points to focus and direct me as I document this season of life. I like that the journal offers the opportunity to write about my experience, thoughts and emotions as well as what I want to tell my baby. Someday, this will not only be fun to go back and read but I pray it will also offer a legacy of faith and encouragement to my child.

Love this book! I am a single mom and it really helped me move in a positive direction. You do not need to be highly religious to follow it. It is super empowering and gets you on the right track for the baby and living a more Godly life. Order it for an expecting mom, someone trying to become a mom, or someone who just found out they will be a mom. It is truly great! Well structured and very relatable for various situations.

I don't know what I was expecting with this book, but I feel like it's very fluffy and lacks much substance. It's nice to have a week by week guide of updates on baby, but the actual devotional part was too emotional / mushy for my taste. That said, the book is beautiful, and for a first time mom, it's a great trigger for journaling / praying for a new baby, even if you don't follow the book exactly. I haven't seen any comparable books on the market, and I think this one is beautifully designed, so it would make a great gift.

I really wanted to love this book, but couldn’t get into it. The language was very flowery, and sweet, and felt a bit excessive for my taste. I enjoy both the poetry and directness of Biblical language, as well as the writing style of Christian authors like Frederick Buechner, CS Lewis, Madeleine L’Engle, Kathleen Norris, etc., so this is completely subjective.Some of the observations and writing prompts were thought provoking and moving, but others didn’t resonate at all, and felt forced or artificial, or like homework. Most reviewers loved the writing, so this subjective. I also (got) the book a little late as it was out of stock for some time, so some of the content was no longer applicable.The cover, printing, presentation, etc. are all very high quality, and this would make a lovely present for the right person. While it won’t suit everyone, that’s ok, because it has clearly been a source of blessing and inspiration for many.

This is a daily devotion book for pregnancy. It does have some week by week info about what is going on with fetal development and such. And then daily devotions with questions and space to write and journal you responses and thoughts. It is a good book for growing closer to God during the season of expectation. It starts very early in pregnancy, and follows you through to the end. It would make a lovely gift.

This devotional journal is beautifully written for the expectant mother's heart as she awaits the joy of the birth of her child. It has a place to write prayers and messages to the baby after each lesson and has a memory verse for each week for mom to guide her as she walks on this journey of pregnancy. I highly recommend as not just a devotional but as a pregnancy journal too. What a gift this would be to show the child years later when he/she is grown as a beautiful testimony.I cried as I went through this wishing I had this for my pregnancies with my daughter and son. I am recommending this to all my pregnant family and friends as it will speak to each of them as they await the redeeming births of their baby.

Gave this beautiful little book as a early 'mom to be' gift to both of my daughter in laws... They loved the encouraging biblical devotional ( parts to write thoughts down) and extra info pages on what to expect in their pregnancy & updates on baby's growth:)Truly helped make their waiting time, a growing time for them as new moms to be. ( they also had fun reading it with their husbands ). I recommend giving the book to the mom to be as early as possible, so she can stay in step with the week's covered and not miss anything!

I absolutely love this book! Changed my perspective on the journey and is helping me to see that the pregnancy is really beyond having a child but being apart of God's grand plan! I love the scriptures and every day journals and prayers as well. I love that we are encouraged to write to our little one. I wish there was a father journal to this! But I love the overall spiritual development I am gaining as I grow into my trimesters. Should have had a place for pictures but I bought the Pearhead book for that! Awesome book!

Being first time horse owners, we were surprised to find out that one of our new broodmares was expecting a foal. Having been pasture bred, we had no expecting dates to go off of other than the ones given by the vet after performing an ultrasound. I had a lot to learn in a short period of time and this book was mentioned in a forum somewhere on my Internet travels. It was easy to follow and very detailed, almost too much regarding all of the possible situations in which a foal would need help being delivered. I was a bit paranoid for sure as there is really no way a vet can be there in time unless they live next door. Within a week of the expected delivery, the birthing pen was prepared, the monitoring system hooked up, and the foaling kit complete and organized. The only problem, my mare didn't read the book (I gave her a stern talking to). Even though I checked her twice a day for all the "signs," she wound up having the foal in the pasture. My husband fed the aggressively hungry mare at 8:30 am (losing appetite is one of the signs) and an hour later at 9:30 am (foals are typically born before dawn) saw a new colt standing next to her. Since my husband did not read the book (relied on me to provide the Cliff Notes), I was able to confidently walk him through all of the after foaling "must do's" until I got home from work. I gave four stars as I would like to see the book updated (printed in 1993) and include foaling after care like how much and what to feed the mare before weaning for good, quality milk production, when to expect the foal to begin eating solid food (mine began eating mama's hay by week two and I didn’t know if this was “normal”), and how to care for a youngster with foal diarrhea, as opposed to how to prevent it, (didn’t have an opportunity to clean the udder before nursing) as this was very nerve-wracking and scary. All-in-all, an absolute must-have reference guide.

As far as I'm concerned, this book is required reading for all foaling attendants. Thank you Dr. Karen Hayes for writing it. The book covers a single topic, and does it better than any of the other foaling guides I've read (and I've read quite a few). Those other foaling guides are on a bookshelf; this is the book that goes in the foaling kit! It has saved our farm from disaster on more than one occasion. Dr. Hayes clearly, calmly and concisely communicates the important facts and techniques the foaling attendant needs to know. The detailed diagrams make all the difference in illuminating exactly what is going on at each stage of parturition. Detailed descriptions of what's normal and what's not, techniques for resolving problems before they become critical, and advice on what to attempt yourself and when to call the vet are invaluable. You will find other fine books about breeding, mare care and foal care, but this is the best book on the actual process of protecting and caring for your mare when it's time to deliver her foal. Dr. Hayes' more general horse care [...].is also highly recommended.

I bought this book because I am a little rusty on my foaling ability (its been a few years) The book was very very thorough and had a lot of illustrations and pictures. Unfortunately in black and white however... Its a good book to get back in the swing of things although it is outdated. I have heard "Blessed are the broodmares" is a very very good book as well. That will be my next purchase! I like this book and would recommend it in conjuction with another book, Alone however as I said it is a bit dated and would need supplementation

I bought this book (along with quite a few others!) 2 years ago as I entered my third foaling season. In my opinion, this book is the only one you need. Even having attended a few foalings, I am always looking to further my knowledge. I wish I had bought the book before my very first foaling! The author does discuss a LOT of the things that can go wrong, but I would rather be well prepared for an emergency that might never happen, than to pretend like nothing can go wrong. It has really good info about the signs that foaling is approaching. I read this book going into the '09 season and have re-read it every season since to refresh myself. I have purchased 2 additional copies for fellow breeders as gifts and have recommended it to anyone I know who is new at attending foalings. I really can't say enough about how informative this book is!

The book delivers what you would expect from the title. If you decide to have a foal, then you must be prepared to handle any situation that could arise. I have read many books on this subject. This one covers every situation that could possibly go wrong. The picture illustrations show several foal dystocia positions. Exact instruction on how to correct each one is easy to understand. The foaling kit, a well as what to have with you when you enter the stall to check the position of the foal. There is a small window of opportunity here. If you miss this stage right after the water breaks, then do not check her.I see many foaling videos online and almost all are from people who have no clue what they are doing. I even saw a video where the attendant cut the umbilical cord with a knife. Being prepared gives you peace of mind. I thought I knew everything until I read this book. Now I understand how a simple correction, will allow the foal to pass through the birth canal with ease.

Great resource! I suggest you buy this ahead of time so that you can learn what is right (and what is wrong) before the birth is looking you in the face. Well-illustrated and clearly written, this book is a must-have for the expectant owner.

Read this book at a library and knew I needed a copy, what I wasn't expecting was to get a copy with not much of any wear across the book. Vary happy with this type of book.
