It helps make good use of what would otherwise be time spent just surfing on your phone.

I bought this for my mother, she is 70 and VERY good in maths and in Sudoko, she likes this one, she uses this, and another Sudoko book and board I also bought for her, every day and keeps her entertain.Print is big enough to read.

I discovered KenKen in our local Sunday comics and it quickly became my favorite. I bought this to pass the time on a flight and continued doing the puzzles until all finished. These are good for focusing the mind on solvable problems at the end of a frustrating work day.

Of all the puzzle books available today, KENKEN is definitely the most challenging. This collection is truly well put together, with east puzzles to introduce the concepts, then fairly rapidly progressing to much harder puzzles. You don't need to be a mathmathician, but you do need to use your analytic and deductive skills. The book paper stands up to multiple erasiers; and believe me, you will need them. The thrill of solving a particularly difficult puzzle is well worth the time.

I purchased this for my Kindle Fire based on the good reviews I've seen on Amazon. From a content standpoint, it seems to have everything and more that I've been looking for. However, like the New Oxford American Dictionary supplied with the Kindle Fire, I haven't found an easy way to look up a definition. If you use the "search" function, a slow global search of the entire Law Dictionary is initiated. For example, a search for "probate" returns all mentions of 'probate' throughout the dictionary. If you are lucky enough to wind up on a page that has a link to the actual term, then clicking on the link will take you right to it. Some terms are listed alphabetically in the "list of group entries" section of the book. However they are not clickable links. On the Kindle Fire, pressing and holding over one of these terms does pull up it's definition, not from the Law Dictionary but instead from the New Oxford dictionary built into the Kindle. It's odd that looking a term up in the Law Dictionary returns a definition from the standard dictionary. Maybe I'm asking too much from an eBook, but it seems that one of the primary functions of an electronic dictionary is its ability to provide easy and reliable look-up.

As a legal dictionary, it is fine -- does everything I need it to do.However, as a Kindle book, it looses it's value because it is impossible to search. A HUGE net efficiency loss. With a real dictionary you can approximate the location of a word in the alphabet then quickly scan for the bolded word you want. The Kindle version shows a new definition on a new page, thus you must scan each and every page and wait for each and every page to load to narrow down to the word you want.For example, I spend about 30 seconds screwing with page scroll to find the letter "I" then another 2-5 minutes to narrow down to "In rem."Any other reference I have--for example Garner's Legal Usage--I can locate a word in under a minute.Amazon, please add a way to Index and search definitions in any dictionary you offer.

This law dictionary is complete, great for those who are students or just in need of a legal dictionary. I used it in my paralegal class and found more than enough information. Others like Blacks are much more expensive, and honestly for my needs this volume is just great!

I got this before I showed up at law school and before I consulted with professors or fellow law students. Most of them recommend Black's Law Dictionary instead of this one. This does the job OK though.

This dictionary is more concise and easy to understand for a beginning law student. Black's seem to assume you already know everything and does not cover some of the simple terms I look for. I'm sure a complete edition of Blacks would be great i just don't have that yet.

I find it very useful for terms and meanings that I have not used in a while. Also good for spell checks of obscure legal jargon. fairly comprehensive, good for practitioners and layman. I recommend this product to both.LB esq.

Don Hardy wrote this book during the year that he was diagnosed with and treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and Heather Hardy’s responses at the end of each chapter enlarge Don’s story while providing her perspectives on Don’s opinions and conclusions. Don candidly considers the questions of the purpose of this life and what life after this one might be like; his amusing anecdotes are told with as much finesse as the sobering ones, without contrivance or pretense. Readers may discover cravings of their own as they read about Don’s diet obsessions with cheese enchiladas and pomegranate juice, and the Fairytale brownies are bittersweet both in name and intention. At the end of the book, the question of who the funny one is has yet to be answered, and the authors have learned from experience that life is both fragile and irreplaceable. This is a book to be read, re-read, savored and shared!

I remember reading this as a kid; it was a library book or something, because the paperback had a plastic cover that would make a pleasing pop on the binding when I opened and closed it. I didn't remember much about the plot, but wishing I knew the Story Girl. The narrator of the book is now an adult reflecting on a summer he spent among relatives. Strangely as I re-read it, I feel a similar way as if I too had been a member of the little band of friends: beautiful and haughty Felicity (I never liked her), chubby Felix, smart and hard working Peter (Felicity never deserved him), sweet Cecily, pitiable Sara, dear Bev, and clever Dan. And of course the amazing, wonderful Story Girl! Though this era of childhood has passed, the innocence and sweetness remain. It's a good one.

Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, famous for her "Anne of Green Gables" novels, had other novels that are well worth reading. If the King cousins and their friends lived in a rather more innocent age, the lessons of their adventures may still of interest to a more sophisticated age. The children will work through some moral dilemmas and their sibling rivalries while learning about telling the truth, obeying adults, and mysteries of life such as sickness, witches, ghosts, and an ancient Blue Chest. Montgomery cleverly cast her characters for dramatic effect, moving the spotlight from chapter to chapter. Thus, the pretty and vain but domestically accomplished Felicity is often in competition with the plainer "Story Girl", who is a hilariously poor cook but has the gift of being interesting."The Story Girl" is very highly recommended to fans of L.M. Montgomery as an entertaining novel of childhood.

The Story Girl is a beautifully-written classic. A perfect piece of literature that could be enjoyed by anyone, young or old. Beverley and Felix (two brothers) get to visit their father's childhood home on Prince Edward Island. They meet up with the rest of the 'clan' living there, including several cousins and friends their own age, that they get to while away the summer with. The passing days include playful fancies, raucous romps, and poetic tales (as narrated by their cousin Sara Stanley, the Story Girl).No matter what the children are up to, the Story Girl always has an amusing incident to tell about, whether truth or fiction. As the chapters flew by, I found myself amazed at just how many stories the Story Girl conveniently had memorized. It must be nice to have such enchanting things to tell, especially at just the right moments to share with others.One thing to note: The children do get quite curious about religious subjects, and sometimes, when several of their young minds all give individual opinions, end up having a muddled view on certain points of the Bible. For me, this just added an extra bit of laughter!L.M. Montgomery has a lovely writing style, always knowing how to convey the whimsical parts of story just right to give an extra spark, and playing out all the other emotions so appealingly. There are many scenes in this book which I just love, whether it was the children's banters, schemes, or naive tragedies. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of reading of her books!

Discovering Your Self Through the Tarot: A Jungian Guide to Archetypes & Personality by Rose Gwain is a very interesting book. As the title suggests, the book teaches you how to use the tarot for Self discovery. This book is designed to work with tarot decks that have the fifth element of Spirit, however, you can also do the spreads with a regular tarot deck; it’s your choice. I found the spreads very enlightening. I highly recommend this book if you want to use the tarot as a tool for understand your Self.

I love this book, but as is my trouble with Tarot I don't practice it enough to get the information to stick. I would say it's great for someone who already has a general knowledge of Tarot and wants to go more deeply into the meanings of the cards. Great for Psycology lovers.

The author presents much good information, but muddies it up for the reader by discussing a new suit she is working on called "Spirits." In the Introduction, on page 2, she mentions she is working on the "Spirits" suit, one that is beyond the archetypal realm of The Fool. Chapter 15 is dedicated to working with the Spirits suit, and several readings where Suits cards came up in a spread are used as examples. For example, on page 129 (in the chapter dedicate to Spirits suit), she writes that all the cards in the spread for a particular person were from the Spirits suit. In the interpretations for the individual suit cards, there are interpretations for the Spirits suit. For example, the book gives interpretations for ace of Cups, Wands, Swords, Pentacles, and also Spirits. Outside of the chapter on the Spirits suit, there are no examples of spreads containing cards from Spirits suit. Including a new suit of her creation is only going to, in my opinion, end up creating confusion for many readers, thus only three stars.

If you like to know what makes people "tick" and use Tarot Cards, then this is the book to have!
