I first heard of John Ramirez’s testimony on YouTube and it was one of the most poignant ones. It was an incredible testimony and seeing such amazing reviews on the book, I thought the book was going to be a more in depth look into the realm of the demonic but it wasn’t. It’s more of an autobiography of one’s tough and dysfunctional upbringing and how that has caused a young man to search for love in the wrong places. In this case, it was into the arms of the devil. It’s a story about the lack of self love more than anything else.I wish there was more info about the actual witchcraft and demonic powers and how that all works so the knowledge will be a weapon for spiritual warfare. There was none really. For instance, John would say his spirit would fly around the community to curse people and he would land and be chased away by Christians. And thats it. I wanted to know how these Christians saw him in the spirit form...?? As the reader, it left me feeling a bit teased and wanting more.There is no doubt that john has lived an incredible life and has an incredible testimony, but to give us all the information on how demons actually work in the supernatural and natural, their limitations, their weaknesses, their strengths, everything that john knows (cuz I’m sure he knows a lot) would be a power tool/info for those educating themselves through books. I guess I was expected a informative guide book of sorts because it has that incredible potential.John, write us a part 2! Give us the details brother! Lol. In order to fight the enemy, we must first know who he is and what he can and can’t do. There are people who has this amazing information and they need to share it with the world.Lastly, I didn’t mean to undermine this great conversion to Christianity by my review. My heart is joyous for all those who has won that battle and join the good.

This testimony is life changing, awakening and breath taking. I studied so much on John Ramirez after hearing his testimony and knowing he was from the same neighborhood as my mother. Mi abuelito dabbled in Santeria, and just as John said in so many of his interviews, it’s made to seem cultural. I remember my mother telling me stories about my grandfather and his statues and she chalked it up as “something he did [as a Puerto Rican man] and lighting candles” that she didn’t fully understand. When I did my own research as an adult, I asked her if “Santeria” sounded familiar to her and she stopped in her tracks and replied “Yes”. She said she remembered the statues, and the candles but that was it. I told her from my studies and research, it was voodoo/witchcraft and my clueless Christian mother had no idea what her father was into. Thankfully, I had a praying grandmother who covered my mother, and my mother some years later, after her death, became a believer. This testimony, John’s transparency, and research, has shown me JUST HOW DEEP THIS GOES. THANK YOU JOHN. PLEASE KEEP WITH YOUR MINISTRY!!! You are my spiritual Tío from afar and I appreciate your willingness to share.

This is a great book and I highly recommend it. John Ramirez tells you the truth about what is going on behind closed doors. He explains what the devils plan is for your life. This book tells about what he did to become a high ranking Satanist and how God brought him out of it. I have read this book several times. It has helped me to understand the hidden spiritual world that influences many things around us. This book and Unmasking the Devil, another book by John Ramirez, has helped me to see that there is ONE that is greater than the devil.

This is an excellent book to read if you are seeking information about the occult. This writer really knows what he is talking about since he was so deep into the occult. I enjoying learning the process, rites and steps to becoming a witch and warlock. But most of all I appreciate the warnings that the writer tell about getting involved with such dark, dangerous practices. The book was well written and easy to follow. Praise the Lord that the writer found his way out from such evil and into the light of God's love and understanding. My personal warning is do not mess with this dark force. You will pay a price for your choice.

About the Author

Master Sergeant Cedric King (Ret.) entered the United States Army in 1995. During a career that took him from an infantry private to a position of leadership in the elite Rangers, King graduated from a number of distinguished Army schools. These included the United States Army Jumpmaster School, United States Army Pathfinder School, Air Assault School, the United States Army Ranger School, and others. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, and is a four-time Best Ranger Competition participant. On July 25, 2012, during his second tour in Afghanistan, King was severely injured by an improvised explosive device. The blast caused major internal injuries, permanent loss to part of his right arm and hand, and the amputation of both legs. He applied the same determined, can-do mindset to his recovery that he had relied on to succeed as an elite Army Ranger. With the love and support of his wife Khieda and daughters Amari and Khayma, he began rebuilding his life. Just 21 months after losing both legs, King completed the Boston Marathon, running on prosthetic blades. He has gone on to compete in a number of physically daunting events, including a 70.3-mile half Ironman Triathlon, the 2014 New York City Marathon, and the 48.6-mile Disney Marathon series. Or rummage through 14th century Reims bursar records to determine the number of dishes to be used and livestock to be slaughtered during the three day coronation festivities that crowned Phillipe the Long? Many might have the patience, but few the talent to make it all so fantastically engaging. In this, the third of the Accursed Kings series, there is marvelous attention both power grabs and to pomp and circumstances Most importantly though Droun is a keen student of human motivation and psychology--specifically the greed and ambition that motivate the powerful.Indeed, in 14th century France even the highest born aren't high enough to suit their sense entitlement. Everyone seems to believe the world would be a much better place if they moved up a rung or two, and oh, yes....if their enemies were disposed of post haste by any means. All of the above are the ingredients that spice up this splendid story of Phillip the Fair's ill-fated offspring. Characters like the Comtesse d'Artois are delicious sociopaths. Minor characters in the story like pieces on a real life chess board were the least powerful are dross to protect a king's most valued pieces. And there are wonderful, delightful chapters that imagine the election of Pope John XXII (the pope who didn't believe in hell). Droun's brilliant narrative is surely what folks mean when they say fiction is more true than biography.If you are unfamiliar with the series, become acquainted as soon as possible. It's the best historical fiction since Robert Graves's I Claudius, and Claudius the God. This is HF that is both meaty and savory. Enjoy!

Druon's series "The Accursed Kings" in well written and fun to read with a jaundiced view of the great and powerful during the period in which the series is set. It does take some liberties with possible hidden actions and incidents behind the documented history of the times portrayed but as far as I can tell from the perspective of a somewhat serious student of the period the series is, with the exception of one or two factual slips, quite accurate in following and effectively incorporating documented information."The Royal Succession" cover the period from the death of Louis X to the succession of his brother Philippe to the throne of France as Phillipe V. Phillipe was the one capable son of Philip IV and is an interesting figure in his own right. Other significant and well portrayed characters in the book include Mahut of Artois and her great enemy Robert of Artois as well as Cardinal Jacques Deuze the future Pope John XXII. The politics of the French Succession are at the core of the book when in 1316, King John I the Posthumous died and the female claimants to the succession were passed over in favor of Phillipe, the uncle of John I. This legally doubtful decision which was later described by French jurists as an appropriate enforcement of the long-defunct Salic law was to be a supreme example of the law of unintended consequences as it led to the succession of the Valois kings and the beginning of the Hundred Years War. The politics of the papal succession provide a counterpoint with the conclave that elected Pope John XXII.

Intrigue and mayhem continues to bedevil the royal family of France and Maurice Druon's star crossed lovers. Mahaut of Artois continues to cast a dark shadow over the comings and goings of monarchs such as Louis X, Jean I and finally Phillipe V. Three coronations occur in this book, two kings of France and Pope John XXII. The circumstances of all three make for entertaining reading in the fourth vol of Druon's accused kings series. The message in this book is to be careful what one wishes for.

Druon does it again! A highly reasonab!e explanation for the tumultuous events that marked these generations of the French monarchy. There may have been persistent peace with other nations, but it was apparently quite dangerous via a vis' other members of the extended royal family!

The Royal Succession (The Accursed Kings, Book 4) is another brilliant example of superb writing that to this reader is the pinnacle of historical fiction and literary entertainment. This series takes my breath away every time I open the pages on another reign of the House of Capet and needless to say The Royal Succession did not disappoint. The Royal Succession is the fourth installment of The Accursed Kings series and enfolds history and vivid descriptions of French chronicles to create a harrowing saga of intrigue, destiny, murder, revenge and loss of innocence. Each novel continues the saga of the previous installment and I would strongly encourage those interested to please read the previous three novels (The Iron King, The Strangled Queen and The Poisoned Crown) before attempting The Royal Succession; however each novel does contain a review of previous novels and events so the decision is yours to make.This novel's timeline only spans from June 1316 to January 9 1317 and follows the absence of a sovereign, the anticipated birth of a posthumous heir and detached manoeuvres of church and court. What transpires behind the empty throne is a succession of events that will ultimately throw the country of France and England into a bloody struggle for power. In The Royal Succession more imaginative drama is presented to the reader than the previous novels, history of course is kept in mind and follows events as close as possible but shocking counterplots are sure to keep readers up late trying to guess what will happen next. I highly recommend The Royal Succession and The Accursed Kings series to those who have a passion for history and a desire to discover a refined collection of novels that are sure to amuse and haunt the reader.

I was waiting for the full series to come out before I bought this version, the QR codes are fun, but after a while, I forgot about pulling my phone out to do that and just played the album while I read instead. LIGHTS said there might be more to the story, so I'll be ready to buy the next volume if she decides on that.

I am in love with the characters and the story.

I never review things but I had to review this. I've been a huge fan of Lights since her first studio album. This was a great concept and fit so well with her album. I couldn't put this down; I can't wait to see more!

This is a concept graphic novel joined with Lights' concept album of the same name, and the package is well crafted and interesting.I can't comment in any useful way on the album except to say that I've sampled all of the tracks and they complement the novel well and, judging from comments and reviews, have been very well received by fans. The novel has a table of contents that ties each track to a chapter in the novel as a listening guide, and I always think that's a clever and sort of funky bonus.Anyway, as to the novel, it seemed to me that you could read it literally as an apocalyptic fantasy adventure, or metaphorically as a take on a young woman's journey to self discovery and empowerment, (or, here's an idea - both ways).Enaia Jin lives in a city divided into concentric circles, with the inner circle the most poisoned and despoiled, and other circles leading eventually to a city of grace, beauty and ease. The damage has been caused by a vaguely described but typical rapacious and evil corporation. En is led first by a lover and then by a mystical spirit sort to discover the foundation and history of this ruined world and then to be challenged to do something about it. NO SPOILERS, but En's journey involves betrayal, confusion, double-crosses, misdirection, twists and surprises. The twists are especially clever and imaginative, and for such a familiar overall premise there are still some surprises to be found in this telling.There are plot holes here and there and some jumps and bumpy parts, but the storytelling struck me as generally clear, fair, and comprehensible. Lights doesn't hide out in artsy-fartsy mumbo jumbo. She is both trying to make some points, (about stress, turmoil, doubt, outsiderness, responsibility, trust), and set out a substantial fantasy adventure that is empowering and inspirational. Fine by me.The artwork struck me as serviceable. Pencils and inks are clear and colors are a bit muted. While the panels and spreads aren't ever drop dead arresting, that doesn't seem to be the point. The art frames and illustrates the story, which is, after all, its main job.So, this didn't strike me as a vanity project, which is sometimes what you get with these multi-media concept undertakings. En's journey is interesting and well told, and Lights does a nice job keeping it all together. Not only does each track of her album refer to part of the comic book, but the comic itself has QR codes within to link you to her music and bonus features. This makes reading a whole new level - one that I adored. Is there really anything Lights cannot do? There are all these gorgeous little world building details in the panels, and at the heart of the comic is so much more.

"Time only matters in places where it runs out."This was pretty cool. And Lights is a pretty amazing artist. (That’s her name. Lights. In case you didn’t get that.)But this is more an experience than a comic.First of all, the comic was a different and creative take on the dystopian world. The story pulls you along with some great art to match. But it’s pretty amazing when you realize that the writer also drew and inked the book.Oh, and she also wrote the soundtrack to the book. You’re supposed to be able to scan the QR codes to take you to the song for each chapter. But I was able to find the album on Spotify and listened to it while I read.All together it makes up a pretty cool experience - as I said at the beginning of this review.Oh, and then watch the video for the song We Were Here and enjoy the scene from Chapter 7 of the book in live action.The whole thing is pretty badass and makes you realize Lights is quite the artist.Check out this comic, the accompanying album, and the video.**Thanks to NetGalley and Diamond Book Distributors for a copy in return for an honest review.

Wonderful Comic, Lights is so good at weaving everything together to create a smooth experience. The bonus content is amazing as always & with the announcement of Skin and Earth going into TV/Game Production in the next year or so, makes it 10x more awesome. The album ties in really well with the comic and vica versa! :) Don't listen to the 4 Star or 1 Star people, Lights absolutely kills it. Every. Time.
