i like the way this book explains the Bible. It is easy to glance through, has lots if illustrations, maps, and diagrams, and gives you an understanding of how the Bible is set up. Each book is broken down. It has general info like author, a short outline of the book, a section that connects Jesus to the book, a little history section, a timeline, then it gives a short chapter by chapter overview with simple illustrations. It's easy to understand without being juvenile. It can be used to look through or study extensively. We used it for a Bible 101 class for people who were not familiar or needed a review of the Bible. The class included a 9 year old, youth and adults, and I believe it worked well for all. I very highly recommend this book for anyone - kid, youth or adult- who wants an overview of the Bible. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
This is an awesome resource for children and parents who are trying to teach their children about the bible. The illustrations and maps are great and the summaries of each chapter in the books of the bible give the main points for our young ones who may not have the patience for the long version. Its also great for adults who are new and just need help getting a jump start into reading and understanding everything written. I think every adult still loves to see illustrations in books. I love this book and would recommend it if you are trying to find ways to teach your children about God's word. Great source to be added to your studying out of bible for kids to get the main point!
Got this book in the adult version and decided to get it for my son as a Christmas present and he liked it a lot. He's really into social studies and this book has help him to learn more about the word of God and understand it in a more simple way.
My son has become obsessed with Greek mythology and reads books on the subject cover-to-cover. My husband and I purchased this book in hopes that it would help him to become obsessed with the one true God. We are listening to the Bible each day, book by book. As we get to a new book, I have him read about it in this book in order to help him to understand. He is making great connections and seems interested.
I bought this for my 6 year old son (homeschooling). I really, really like it! My son... not so much haha. But, I think he's just a little young for it yet. I love the illustrations and the simple, straightforward explanations. I'll keep trying with my son!
This is pretty much the same as the old book "What the bible is All About for Young Explorers". I purchased both just to see the difference. Only the formatting looks different. I love this book!
